Hi everyone, as you can see i just joined the forums and I have a problem. I want to make a subwoofer for my HT 60% music 40% Movies and gaming. I have an old harman Kardon hk595 with no satelite speakers which doesn't work with my receiver Denon 1804. I would like to hook this up but it doesn't play sound through the actual woofer. Now for the purpose of this thread: Since my hk 595 doesn't work i would lieke to build a small ported subwoofer around 8" to 10" driver. I dont know what else to buy/order to complete this so thats why i brought it to the experts, you guys. Could you please give me very inexpensive and quality recommendations for the parts needed
Thank You,
James

Agree with the advice above. Any DIY active sub would be similar to the HK.
All if these active type subs required a bass signal of sufficient volume to turn on the amp. With the main power button on the amp goes into a sleep mode to save power unless a bass signal is detected.
Perhaps check the fuse next to the AC power cord too. Figure out why the HK isn't working before going for a different active sub type.
