Im looking into using this sub for a home theater. It will be for movies and for music. About 30 movies 70 music. I found a good deal on a L7 12" and it has a good frequency response. I haven't decided on an amp yet, but this is for a college dorm room so I'm just ebay searching for something that ends cheap. Its going to be about 800 watts. How big should the box be? and what should it be tuned to?

Well I threw the L7 in there because I saw a couple that were cheap..just in comparison to their msrp value. They also put out the power that I would be looking for. If you know of a better HT application woofer that can handle at least 500 Watts RMS then I would be very interested. Im more car oriented and am not very savy with the home theater side of things.

It is sealed then, that answers that question... Ok well playing around with the winisd beta and looking around different forums at reasonably priced subs. I found a 15" RE HC which looked very good in a 6 cube box tuned to about 23 hz. So that is my current direction. I would cut a wide mounting ring so that the sub will fit the cut out and then cut the necissary hole in the top for the porting tube. Im hoping these modifications can be done rather cheaply and it will be an easy solution
