http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/NU6000.aspx

There will be 1000, 3000 and 6000 Watt model...
Class-D is very common for SW amps. Very cool and using very little electricity.
The iNUKE NU6000 delivers 2 x 1500 Watt @ 8 ohm. Would this be adequate for two Maelström 18"?

There seems to also been added a EPX4000 model (EPX3000 before). These are Class-H and these run also cooler than normal AB, but not as cool as D. But I'd need two of those?

I wrote Behringer on Facebook and questioned them about the specs of the INuke NU12000. I stated tbe 4ohm and 8ohm ratings of the NU12000 and the NU6000 were the same. So I asked if the NU 12000 was the same as the NU6000 except for being stable into 2ohms. Here is their response "The 12,000 version has actually 2 6000 units inside. So it has double the power. There seems to be an error with the specs. Thanks for highlighting."

So going by this response the Inuke 12000 will be two 6000's in one unit. Many guys over at AVS were stating that it was simply a rebadged NU6000 with a beefed up power supply which is stable into 2 ohms. However going by this response the NU 12000 will indeed be two 6000s bridged together. This is excellent news. There is a big hole in the market for an affordable 1000-1800 watt per channel @ 8ohms mass produced pro amplifier for under $1000.

The NU 3000 is not powerful enough for multiple large drivers. The NU 6000 was close but this could be the godsend the DIY community has long awaied for those who own multiple large subs. if this thing puts out the usual half of it's rated Behringer power ratings, it will be EPIC.

It sounds like the person at Behringer might not be too technically astute.

As noted, the 6000 is already bridged (two 3000's).

Maybe they're paralleling two more to allow 2 ohm loads, which is consistent with the same power at 8/4 and 2X at 2.

At first blush it doesn't seem to make sens marketing-wise because they don't claim more power at 8/4, but anyone needing this much power must be using multiple drivers, though I guess there's only a 50/50 chance they can be arranged into a 2 ohm load.

A message from Behringer on this issue:

Dear All,

Thanks for your interest in the iNuke amplifier series. I have to apologize for a typo on the marketing feature list of NU12000DSP.
NU12000 technically is based around 4 amplifier modules, two pairs of which are internally working in a bridge mode configuration, already.
Hence, there is no further option for bridging channels and the minimal load impedance is 4 Ohms, each. We will immediately fix the web featurelist to correctly state:
2 x 6000 Watts into 4 Ohms, 2 x 3,000 Watts into 8 Ohms

Sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope that makes sense to you.

Regards,

Would anyone who understands the limiter function on the DSP amps be kind enough to run through the procedure on how to set this up. I have modelled my subs with up to 2000 watts input power and I know that the Inuke has been tested near this rating but I don't want to damage anything.

That is to say I won't be running at full power that often if any but it would be good to know how to do it properly.

cheers

Graham

I will contact behringer to find out tomorrow. I did think about setting the limiter to just short of max. I don't know other than that. When I was running sinewaves through my subs in free air I got to -20db on the onkyo with the sub trim on +9 and gain on the inuke on max and I only got two lights so I am thinking it will take quite a thrashing to over drive this amp.

Clear as mud as usual. LOL

Help - is my iNUKE NU3000DSP DOA?
Can't get my 2 subs to work under the iNUKE, they work fine under my EP2500.

Video shows what happens as the iNUKE powers up then goes into a shut-down mode??
Orange rings around the gain knobs go to red almost instantly.
I'm running in dual mode, with just a basic HPF @ 20HZto start with, saved as INIT_DAT1 which loads as default.
All other filters are off. This is 1st time I tried to use it since getting it a few months back.

fwiw, both my subs are SI, a 15" and 18" wired for 4ohm load.

Did you hear anything from Behringer support?
Is your a NU6000DSP? I have no problems getting my pair of NU3000DSP into clipping territory. Well, technically it is not clipping. I think the limiter is not defeatable.
I didn't bother getting in touch in the end. I went into the limiter and just set it to around 2800 watts (behringer's peak power I presume) and 4 ohms. I've not played them loud enough yet to get any more than 2 lights come up and that's around -20db on the MV on the onkyo.

Very impressed so far except for the EQ as it's a pain. It's simple enough but when you input the frequency, gain and bandwidth and re run new graphs it's not the same. When I used a BFD it was spot on.

I was thinking of ordering a iNuke 6000DSP for a project of a pair of dual opposed Dayton RS18's which I can wire for about a 6ohm load. The only other option is a little under 2 ohm which I know the 6000 won't handle but how does the 3000 do?

The subs are already done and have been great wired for 2ohms using a Face Audio F1600TX. I just thought the iNuke DSP might be a better option as an all in one amp for these.

Looked through a few pages but I don't think I can make it through 300+ posts

Any experiences those of you who own these amps can share would be greatly appreciated.

If you know a 6000 = two 3000 in one box...
Why do 2 ohms if you can do 6 ohms?

#327 ·
I completely agree. Yes the inuke 6000 will have its limits (although I would have to seriously upset the neighbours to find them). Im listening to rudimental (great album) at -25db on the mv and the bass is not neighbour friendly even at that level. And I only have one light barely coming on.

Personally I would say no not of there own channel at 4ohms.
Even if 8ohm drivers wired for 2 ohms running at 1100w Rms it might be ok but would still run 2 8 ohms run in series wired so a 4ohm load total giving 2200w Rms to run of.

In your case go for an nu6000 as it it will power theme with ease and it's better to over spec the amp.

I had an nu1000 running in bridged 800w Rms to run a sub that needed only 200w Rms and a 150w Rms plate amp did a better job.
And both amps would not run my acoustic elegance drivers, and an nu3000 will power one of them with ease.

I learnt the hard way site money and get an NU6000 and you won't regret it one bit.
