I'd have to watch Hannah again... but it has some seriously LFE large driven by the Chemical Brother's techno score. I'd probably say 4.5? ;-)

Dredd is definitely a below 20Hz movie. There's a scene about 1/2 way in where he gets mad in a cafeteria. My entire room was pressurized by it. I'd say Dredd is a solid fiver.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Battleship?

I recommend immortals , has some serious bass and rumble, the movie masterization was made with IOSONOS technology.

test at your own risk

2- 25m30s to 26m30s
3- 29m45 to 30m10s

5- 50m to 54m00s
6- 1h00m to 1h05m
7- 1h19m15m to 1h38m20s
8- 1h41m10 to 1h42m10s

Battle los angeles 5 stars

Just finished watching Lord of the Rings Fellow ship and I must say that movies are so much more fun to watch with BASS. I can't believe how dynamic they are and how much more they pull you into the film.

Can I just say that I love this thread and plan on watching all of the 5 and 4 star movies on the list. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the list. Love love it.

Fellowship is a great one - there is a reason why Jim uses the Bridge scene for all his subwoofer tests. I lost count of the number of times I replayed that scene...

Is The Haunting out on bluray? I can only find the DVD version when I google it.
Not sure...

And, keep the suggestions and your thoughts for rating coming guys - lets get a big solid list!

Gotta agree with Battleship being a 4.
Prometheus a 4.
Smoking Aces.....don't recall, would have to watch again.

First movies to have mega bass were Earthquake and Midway. They used a new sensation called "sensurround" using Cerwin Vega folded horns and a special boosted track. They had to be removed from older movie theaters because they were losing bricks. These beasts are still available under the Cerwin Vega EARTHQUAKE series. They are the KING of subwoofers....

Are you talking about subwoofers or movies with bass?

One of my favorites of all times on a really BIG screen is Terminator 2. I was at Incredible Universe in DFW and they had the sequence where the truck comes down into the aquaduct chasing Schwarzenegger on the Harley. It was on a 70" TV with TONS of bass. Ended up buying both the TV and the movie and played it for family & friends when they came over. Really stressed the sheetrock...lol...
