I am an older professional photographer. I was in IT at the University of California at Santa Barbara for 36 years mostly as a programmer doing assembler on an IBM mainframe. I retired a few years ago. I am currently the "House Photographer" for the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California, where I have worked as a contract photographer for ten years. I am not a gambler. I don't get free tickets to shows. I use Canon equipment and have a lot of their very top end gear. I have Epson printers.

I live in Buellton, California. It is the home of Pea Soup Andersen's, a restaurant chain. I am in, or within a few miles, of at least three official wine appellations. The fields in the Santa Ynez Valley in which we are situated are almost all vineyards now. We have some of the best bicycling roads in America and all of the major cycling teams train two or more weeks a year here. If you are a bicyclist this area is heaven. My wife and I are very amateur, pleasure riders with decent road and mountain bikes.

I have joined HTS because, while I know a lot about a very tiny spectrum of computers, I am not mechanical (or electronic in the same sense) and am hoping to get assistance properly configuring some home audio connected to TVs. I believe that I am probably the last person in my valley to replace my CRT TVs with flat panels. Now that I have them setup I am adding some audio "extensions" and some things are confusing. I will start a new thread with details when I get settled and figure out where to post.
