I also rented over the weekend. I enjoyed it. Little bit predictable but what is not any more. Worth the rent.

"meh"???

When are all the GOOD movies coming out on blu ray?

Well, my wife picked it out...I felt it was as exactly as Dale said:

"The visual effects in Priest are pretty good and as I mentioned earlier, it does offer some great eye-candy to look at and the action is pretty good to watch as well. I think the problem I have with "Priest" was that at the end of the movie, which sets itself up for a sequel that will probably never happen, is that I just didn’t care. Yeah there were great effects, wonderful sound, lots and lots of explosions, but as the credits rolled I thought; “meh”…

The audio ROCKS

Re: Priest - Blu-Ray Review

I concur: not bad not great, but "good".

The sad thing is that I think it could have been great. There are some excellent actors in there. There was a real budget. There's a solid environment and decent story to work from. The costumers did an excellent job (love especially the villan).

But somewhere the director just failed to pull it off. The opening sceen, which should have been terrifying and then tragic was just there. Not dull, but only marginally exciting and lacking the gravitas that could have been in a better movie. It really does set the stage.

I might buy used. I'm glad I watched... but it is the kind of movie I like.

The movie was decent enough but definitely could have been better.

sounds like a ripoff of Hellsing Ultimate...
I don't consider it similar to hellsing other than both having vampires, people with abilities and the church. The movie isn't really similar to the manhwa either :/

Re: Priest - Blu-Ray Review

I always liked Alucard. He would make a great protagonist in a live action film if they could find the right actor.
