| Laminate screen build using substrate question I'm in the planing stage of building my screen from a sheet of Wilsonart 5x8 Fashion Gray Laminate. My question is, if using two sheets of hard board, as demonstrated in the peg board method, for a 110"/54"x96" screen, how do you join the two pieces of hard board together? I'm guessing once you glue the laminate to the two pieces that would uniform the three pieces together and make it rigid enough for hanging at this point or not. Any suggestions from those who have used a substrate would be greatly appreciated. If there is a better way to tackle this projects please chime in. Would like to stick to using a substrate though. Thanks in advance, Tony | |||

| Re: Laminate screen build using substrate question Thanks for the reply Mech. The HB is 1/8" thick and I don't know if a biscuit joiner will have enough material to bite on. I chose 1/8 for weight consideration. Should I have gone with a heavier/thicker board? I do plan on framing it as well. | |||

| Re: Laminate screen build using substrate question Ok that helps me! I'd take a strip of your cut offs - something like 6" wide or so - and glue it at the seam - 3" on either side of the seam. That should firm it up enough for you. And it would only add 1/8" to the backside.mech Got questions? Start a thread. | |||
