| Hi, I was looking for an electric projection screen for ceiling-mounting and I found a german shop that has electrical screens (with LAN connection included) in a very affordable price, but I'm not sure because they're VERY cheap in comparison to other brands... But the technical specs seem to be fine! Here is the description: Projection screen features: -- Visually attractive and robust white metal casing (approx. 10x10 cm) -- Viewable formats: 4:3 or 16:9 -- Black backing (100% impervious to light) -- Black border approx. 5cm for extra strong contrast + upper black border -- Intermediate position possible at any time, manual adjustment of the upper and lower end position possible -- Matt white, seamless 4 layer HDTV optimised fabric -- 1,0 gain! No sparkle, 650g/mē -- Suitable for LCD as well DLP beamers -- A heavy tension/weight bar stitched with a double seam guarantees ideal planar positioning. -- Simple wall or ceiling installation also possible directly without clearance -- Viewing angle 160° -- Fire protection class M1 -- Connection: 220 volts -- 2-year warranty -- All cables and plugs are included -- Very quiet projection motor! -- Stylish IR remote control set made of melamine material, not plastic! --Other remote controls which are equipped with the international transmission code RC-5 can be programmed to the switching unit. The viewable surface of the model I've seen is 240cm x 135cm (16:9) with a 50 cm of upper black border, and this screen only costs 285.00 EUR (VAT included!) What do you think about this screen? | |||

| Re: What do you think about this Screen? It sounds like a reasonable screen. Are you going to only use it in a darkened room with dark walls. ceiling, and flooring? If not the white material will washout if there is any ambient light available. You should determine if they have a matte gray option. I'm not sure how EURs compare to Canadian dollars but I purchased a similar screen from a small outfit in Toronto for about $260 Cdn. I figured the mechanism was worth the price. Do you need a retractable screen? If you have the wall space for a fixed screen then this offers an option to have both a white retractable and a gray screen. | |||

| Re: What do you think about this Screen? Yes, I'll need a retractable screen because at the same wall I've got a 48'' Plasma, so I'll need to have a motorised screen for pulling it up and down. No, my room is not darkened. Do you think It will be a problem for this screen? Will it reflect too much light? anyway, the ambient light is very low in the room. | |||

![]() We use the TV during the day and for your basic chic flick (all talking and nothing visually spectacular). At night we turn off the lights and watch real movies and play video games using the screen. The white walls and ceiling did cause some washing out of the blacks on the original white screen material. I subsequently painted the screen gray. This is a bit drastic but it worked out OK. If I could have purchased a gray screen initially that would have been the end of it for me. | ||||
