| Looking for portable screen My astronomy club uses a room for meetings that does not have a proper projector screen available in it. But, we also don't want to have to lug one of those old projector screens that pull out of a heavy metal enclosure with the awkward tripod, etc. One idea is to just buy a white bed sheet and hang that on the wall. But, I think the bed sheet will get wrinkly. So, I thought I would ask here if people had suggestions for a proper screen material that meets the following needs: - Can be rolled up (folded up?) easily without introducing wrinkles. - Is relatively light since we need to attach it to a wall using tape or possible thumbtacks. - Doesn't have to be huge, just "normal" projection screen size. - Doesn't have to be the ultimate in HDTV screen material. It's just used for powerpoint type of stuff. Thanks, Mitch | |||

| Re: Looking for portable screen In art class my teachers guest simply taped large sheets of white construction paper to the wall. It came on rolls and is commonly used for laying on the tables to keep them clean. Is this like what you mean or something better? Sorry I don't know the proper name of it. | |||

| Re: Looking for portable screen You could try blackout cloth. It's sold at JoAnne's as well as Michaels I believe. I'm not sure if it would wrinkle though as I've had zero experience with it. mech mech Got questions? Start a thread. | |||

| Re: Looking for portable screen I'd be tempted to get some of the stuff on Ebay...like this, and keep the tube it comes with. It comes rolled up...so, cut it down to size (if 92" is too big for you) and stick it back in the tube. You can cut the tube down to size also, if it is too long. Throw a pack of thumbtacks right down the middle of the tube (center of the roll)...then you have a traveling screen. | |||
