| Kydex thermoplastic sheet I stumbled upont this material. It is available in large sections. Has anyone tried to use this material for a screen? I was looking for something big enough for a 106" diag. 16:9 screen. I would paint it with the PFG AAA method. http://www.kydex.com/default.asp | |||

| Re: Kydex thermoplastic sheet It does look interesting, but when I talked to them it wasn't any less expensive than laminates, but it is very light weight. One thing to note about it is it will let light pass through. I have a big box of samples from the company, so I can say this from actual light tests. Nothing fancy, I just held a mini mag light up about six inches away and I could clearly see the light coming through. If you go this route, I'd put a backer board on it or paint the back to try and reduce the light penetration. Any light that passes through a screen is lost energy, and lost energy means lost brightness.
