Is an SPL Meter required to use REW

I dont have an SPL meter but have a nice Yamaha 16 channel mixer. Do I require an SPL Meter to use REW and if not what sort of mic should I use as I have access to lots of different types of microphones including Sure SM58's and there really good SM 81 condenser microphone's

Any microphone will do as long as you have a calibration file for it.

It's rather difficult to set the level of 75dBSPL at your listening position without an SPL meter, but it can be questimated.
