| How to do Continuous Sweeps a la SMS1 with REW? Newbie alert! I am trying to EQ my HT, mainly getting 2 subs dialed, by using a DCX2496 and of course REW. I was playing with an SMS-1 system recently and I really liked that I could do ‘real’ time adjustments to the EQ/filters during the test signal sweeps. I have been looking for such option in REW, i.e. a continuous test signal sweep and visual representation, rather than completing each of those steps first before beginning with the next one: 1. signal sweep , 2. calculation, 3. plot in chart. Any idea if/how this is possible with REW? Thanks much! | |||

| Re: How to do Continuous Sweeps a la SMS1 with REW? Thanks much, brucek. I have been playing with the various parameters under the Spectrum tab. It looks very promising, but thus far I have not been able to find the optimal settings yet. By optimal I mean settings that would mimic the way the SMS-1 plots the response: I would like to see a plot that does not move till it gets overwritten by the next sweep. Also a curve less blocky and more like the measurement plots would be nice. Any pointers? Thanks! | |||

| Re: How to do Continuous Sweeps a la SMS1 with REW? To make the curve less blocky you can go to the View settings and uncheck the box to use bars on RTA plots and also try increasing the FFT length. The curve is updated live, if you don't want it to update just stop the RTA using the red button in the bottom right corner. | |||

| Re: How to do Continuous Sweeps a la SMS1 with REW? If I'm not mistaken the SMS-1 smooth the curve as well, so the two will never match precisely. REW will be more accurate, and provide more detail. | |||
