| Automatic Soundcard Compensation with spd/if So if I want to use the automatic soundcard compensation but my output from my soundcard is spd/if (hooked up to receiver), how do I do a loop back connection? Should I connect the left preout from my receiver to the left line in? This would take into account the delay through the system, no? | |||

| Re: Automatic Soundcard Compensation with spd/if You could try it, problem is you end up compensating for whatever the response of the receiver preout is which may not match the response of the other outputs - it could have a different LF roll-off. Try looping the sub output back to the right line input and make a measurement to see how flat the sub output comes out at LF, that will show you whether or not the compensation is correct. | |||

| Re: Automatic Soundcard Compensation with spd/if What about this connection method? I have an Audigy2, and it has both PCM digital output and analog output. So if I loopback the analog output directly into the line-in and hook up the digital out to my AMP, my measurements should be valid? Or is it dependent that it must use analog version from the sound card? | |||

Is your goal to use REW and a PC to measure your subwoofers response and suggest filters for an equalizer? brucek

Yes, just that my PC sound card has digital output and my receiver can use that..
