| Microphones Q & A Is there any need to "point" the microphone? I use a Behringer mic. (My Audyssey unit manual emphasizes pointing their mic straight up towards the ceiling. My DEQX unit manual emphasizes pointing the mic directly towards the speaker.) Where can one get a mic calibrated? | ||||

| Re: Microphones Q & A Which Behringer mic? If it's their test mic (ECM8000) it is omni-directional but polar, meaning it will reject sounds coming from the cable end. Also, it should have shipped with a calibration file that can be input into a software-controlled RTA. If you need to have a microphone calibrated (which means it's FR is measured against known standards and the results reported to you) you'll have to find a good audio lab in your area. | ||||

We supply a free calibration file for the ECM8000 on our Download page. It's perfectly suitable for home use of the ECM8000 mic. ![]() brucek | ||||||
