Questions about connections

After doing some sweeps, I noticed that I had connected both the the left and right output from the PC to the receiver. Does that double up the signal being sent to the sub? Also, when I read the connections section of the help, there is an optional loop back that gets connected to the left channel input of the sound card. What does that do. I do not have a equalizer connected in my configuration.

REW sends the same signal out the right and left line-out (when you don't use Left Channel Calibrate). Many people simply use the right channel output from the PC and then split it with a Y-splitter into the receiver so they can check both mains speakers.

You have the option of not using the soundcard cal file, and using the left channel looped back from line-out to line-in. See the REW HELP FILES.......

So, if I had both outputs from the PC sent to the mains, and my mains disconnected so all the info was going to the sub, I would be sending 2 signals to the sub (or doubling it up), right? To fix that I should disconnect the left channel and split the right before it gets to the receiver input.

I'm using the soundcard cal file, so I guess I don't need to do that.

The two inputs to left and right of the receiver may affect the sub volume slightly, but it doesn't matter because this will be accounted for in the REW levels setup.... Splitting a line-level signal has no affect on its level by the way......
