Any extra value in a CM-140 with what I already have?

I already have a Radio Shack Sound Level Meter- Model Number 33-2050.

I've ordered a Behringer ECM8000 Microphone and some Dayton CMX-15K XLR Microphone Cable to go with it.

And "soon" I expect to order an external USB soundcard with suitable microphone/input/output connections so my laptop can use REW.

I realize the Radio Shack 33-2050 may be a bit old-fashioned, but so am I!

My question is: is there any value - any at all (any added feature or more ease-of-use with REW) - in adding a Galaxy Audio CM-140 SPL meter to what I already have?

Thanks,
Bill

No, the Radio shack meter you have will do the job just fine.

The Galaxy meter would be a better choice if you wanted to do some full-range measurements, because it has better high frequency response than the Radio Shack meter. But you've already purchased the ECM mic for that, so the RS meter is all you need.

Wayne
