| REW, BFD, Audyssey = overloaded bass I've been lurking here for quite some time, trying to absorb everything I can. I've got an issue with REW, BFD, and Audyssey that I just can't seem to get a handle on. Taking some earlier advice, I first did a full Audyssey calibration with BFD out of the loop. I then hooked up REW, and the BFD and dialed in what is practically a perfect sub woofer curve using the default template built into REW down to around 15Hz. This is where the trouble starts. Very low bass is awful, overloading the sub woofer every time. I'm using the thunderstorm near the beginning of "Enchanted" for testing. If I disable Audyssey, and recalibrate BFD, everything is wonderful. I like what Audyssey does for the room, and want to keep it in the loop, but the bass situation is bad. It almost appears that Audyssey is punching up bass below 20Hz where BFD can't really get to. I've got a large SVS sub woofer (I'm at work, and don't have the exact model) that works well down to at least 16Hz. Measurement-wise, REW says the bass is spot-on with Audyssey and BFD engaged down to 15Hz. The levels look good... everything looks good when measuring. Before I start posting graphs and such, I was really wondering if anyone had seen a similar situation. -Brian | ||||

I'd really have to see a graph before commenting. I would also like to see the waterfall (same axis used as the response chart) vertical 45dB-105dB, horizontal 15Hz-200Hz.- logarithmic. brucek | |||||
