| Calibrating Souncard-Vista (Volumes) I used a Stereo 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable between my Input and Output of my Soundcard. The instructions in REW says the WAVE volume should be 1.00. However, mine is Grayed out and I do NOT have that WAVE volume option under my Mixer Volume of VISTA, nor anywhere in the Sound of Control Panel. The only way I could change the INPUT volume was to go to Sound, choose my SigmaTel soundcard, select the INPUT, right click on PROPERTIES and change the INPUT volume there. Took me a while to find, but I finally found it and was able to adjust my input volume to be within .3dB of the Output. However, I had no option for the WAVE volume. Will this be a problem, or am I ok since I was able to change the INPUT to match the OUTPUT? My graph looked very similar to the REW help files I found on this forum. | ||||

With Vista the best way to control the levels is by right clicking the speaker icon on your desktop System Tray and select either Playback or Recording Devices. ![]() Then you select the device and its properties and then click the levels tab and control the line-in (on the Recording tab) and line-out (on the Playback tab) from there. ![]() brucek | |||||

| Re: Calibrating Souncard-Vista (Volumes) You also need to select "open volume mixer" when REW is running and set the volume control for REW to max - that is the equivalent of the Wave volume control under Vista. | ||||

| Re: Calibrating Souncard-Vista (Volumes) I didn't see "Open Volume Mixer" on REW. Where do I find that so I can set to Max? | ||||

| Re: Calibrating Souncard-Vista (Volumes) When you right click the volume control it is the first entry in the popup menu, in bold. Each application in Vista has its own volume control, separately from the overall volume control, the "Volume Mixer" lets you access that. Once you set it Vista remembers the setting for that application when it next runs. | ||||
