Advice for a newbie, please...

I have decided to take the plunge and go the route of eq for my subwoofer into my HT system. I have a few questions and would really appreciate some feedback. I have ordered a Behringer ECM8000 Mic, Behringer Xenyx 802 Mixer, Behringer Feedback Destroyer Pro BFD1124P and an E-MU usb to Midi cable. I have a laptop running XP Pro with SP3 and I downloaded the latest REW software from the site.

My problem is that I cannot source the SB Live External USB soundcard in South Africa! I can only get the Edirol UA-1EX external card. Is this an acceptable working alternative to the SB?

I think is okay ... it has the RCA in and out (that's what you need a line in and line out)

When you make reference to the DIP switches - are they software selectable or are they switches on the card itself that needs to be changed? If so, are they easily accessible? Once again thank you for soemthing truly magnificentl!!!

They are switches on the underside of the unit. And you are welcome

Well, I will be occupied for the next few days, but I have just picked up all my hardware and on Sunday I will start with REW. Hopefully it will be painless but I know we have the best and friendliest advice possible here....
