| Sound Card "AND" Mic preamp calibration?? I am using the SB Live USB card along with the ECM8000 and M-Audio "Little Buddy" mic pre-amp and was trying feeding the cal signal for the sound card also thru the mic preamp (Utilizing an attenuator into the mic input) to try and take into account the response of the pre-amp along with the sound card. It seemed to work and gave me a response similar to just the sound card with just more roll-off at the extreme ends. Is this a good idea or just cal the sound card and leave the mic pre-amp out of the equation?? Bob.. | ||||

| Re: Sound Card "AND" Mic preamp calibration?? Including just the line stages would be suffice for your loopback creation. The small loss in the mic stage wouldn't have an overwhelming effect. Run the loopback cable through line-in to line-out and create your soundcard cal file. I do this with my XENYX Behringer Mic preamp and only use the line through. brucek | ||||
