connection queston

I'm trying to get the internal soundcard calibrated on my macbook pro, and I'm not able to get anything to show up in the input bars. I'm using a 1/8" stereo to a SINGLE rca plug, is this the problem? Do I need a 1/8" adapter that splits the signal into a right and left channel for the rca cable?

Another thing that didn't seem right is when I clap my hands or make any other sound, its showing that sound in the input bars. It seems like its using the built in microphone as the input, but I have the input set to "audio line-in port" in sound preferences. Is this normal that it would pick up ambient sound like that?

Yes, on both the line-in and line-out.......... you will only use the right channel though.
