connection ?

Hi guy's

I connected my SB Live "front" speaker port to my Denon 3806 v.aux on the front panel with a RCA splitter R&L I set my Denon to stereo and activated a tone, no sound. I switched to Direct and the tone was heard but only my R&L mains not my sub ? My sub is connected to my preamp of my Denon is that why the tone is not heard? When I set my Denon to stereo the indicator lights show the mains and the sub but again no sound.

And if you play a CD in 'stereo', does the sound come from mains and sub?

Then connect REW to the CD port and it will work....
