| Intel/Mac, MIDI, and REW? Is there a special procedure for connecting my iMac to BFD/REW? I htink I read somewhere that there is a peice of software that has to be run on the iMac along with REW to use MIDI? I've caught a couple of threads saying that the newer 1124's and REW are not mixing well? I do have my 1124 confiqured right but REW doesn't see it. Nor does any midi ports show up as avavilable in the menu. Any suggestions? Thanks! | |||

| Re: Intel/Mac, MIDI, and REW? Per the help files ( ) you need Plumstone for Midi support on Macs, get it here: http://www.mandolane.co.uk/swPlumstone.htmlFor an Intel Mac you need a newer version of the package available on that site, which is shareware (the PPC version is freeware). | |||

| Re: Intel/Mac, MIDI, and REW? You also may need to setup the "Audio MIDI Setup" application in the utilities folder as well. In regards to the intel macs, have you thought of going over to the dark side and running Windows via Bootcamp? It's pretty easy to setup if you have a an XP system disk with SP2, the Bootcamp walkthrough instructions are easy to follow and it works really well. As you noted elsewhere on these forums there is a problem with REW and the newer DSP1124Ps (I have the same problem), according to John M, Behringer have changed the midi protocols, and he is working on a fix. You may have to manually setup the filters for the moment, which looks daunting at first, but after you've done one, you get the hang of it very quickly, using REW to plot the filters for you (which is the hard part). | Re: Intel/Mac, MIDI, and REW? I have REW running on Windows on my iMac. Runs fine but does not see the MIDI ports when connected. This may be a limitation of Bootcamp or it may be me? I have used REW/BFD to find and set filters to great success, I just like the idea of instant finding and setting filters and rechecking my results with a new measurement within minutes! I'm going to download the software and see if the Mac side of my iMac will respond! ![]() | |||

| Re: Intel/Mac, MIDI, and REW? I'm using an Edirol UM1SX, on a MacBook Pro running Windows, REW sees the Midi interface with no problems once you've downloaded and setup the Midi drivers, the Midi ports should be selectable under the Comms menu, make sure you have the Midi output to the FBDs input and vice versa for the Midi input, you should see the Midi flash as filters are downloaded to the BFD The problem I'm having is with the newer DSP1124P not accepting the filters from REW. | |||

| Re: Intel/Mac, MIDI, and REW? I think I will be waiting for the REW update before I spend my time messing with the MIDI setup. I'd rather enjoy the sound than waste time watching lights blink!! Thanks for the advice! | |||
