| New user needing a checkup-reposted! Hello everyone, i'm new to this software so after 2 nights of messing about i think i have set it up ok and i have some graphs to show- i'm asking if everything looks ok and what "iyho" is the best crossover point for my sub in relation to the mains before i attack with BFD! 1. green line -main speakers- red line-mains & subwoofer @50 X-over- 0 phase 2. green line -main speakers- red line-mains & subwoofer @80 X-over- 0 phase 3. green line -main speakers- red line-mains & subwoofer @120 X-over- 0 phase thanks for any replies darren Last edited by dazsti; 01-10-09 at 08:33 PM.. | Re: New user needing a checkup! Your mains look fine, but the sub appears fairly challenged with its drop off at ~40Hz. Either the sub is simply not up to the task or you have a rather wide room mode at 40Hz causing the peak (although the mains don't appear to reflect that theory). I suggest moving your sub around (try a corner) and see if you can get any better low end extension. As it is, the mains wouldn't benefit from the sub with its present response... Please size your graph plots to 800 wide.... ![]() brucek | ||||

| Re: New user needing a checkup! Yeah bruce i noticed that in the graphs not much response after approx 43, the sub is an Acoustic Energy evo-specs-150 watts, 35Hz – 150kHz, i will try some different places and retest, if i get the same results maybe a new sub is required. | ||||

| Re: New user needing a checkup! Flattening out the 40 Hz hump with an equalizer could get your usable extension down to 30 Hz, if the sub can handle it... Regards, Wayne | ||||
