Extreme noob question

Hi,

I am running a 5.1 speaker system off of an onkyo 876. Do you have to have an equalizer to use rew, or is there any way for it to communicate with my receiver and adjust its eq settings. Thanks for letting me ask a stupid question.

No, the 876 doesn't offer any way to control it's built-in equalizers from outboard software. You don't need an equalizer to use REW.

No, but REW does have a feature that shows in room response in "real time." You can make the adjustments yourself to your receiver's EQ and REW will show the changes as they happen.
