Win10 Woes

Hi all, newbie here, in fact so new I haven't even got REW to run properly yet.
Had no problem installing, just refuses to run, tried running as admin, tried compatibility mode but the only way I have got it to run is by running the compatibility troubleshooter, which after trying a couple options, manages to start REW by using the Vista service pack 3 option, it asks me if I want to use these settings, I confirm. So now I have an open REW programme but when I try to browse to my Mic Calibration file nothing happens and if I close the programme it will not start again unless I go through the troubleshooter again. If I select the Vista Service Pack 3 option direct from the files properties it again refuses to work.

My media system is an Intel i5, 8Gb Ram, Asus Xonar soundcard, kernel streamed to a Cambridge Audio DacMagic (Stage 2), then when I get this going into a DRC-DA8, then 6 x Gain clones into my modded Epos 22's.

Any ideas would be most gratefully received!

Re: Win10 Woes

Are you linking to that because you are running Windows 'God Mode'? Most REW users are running Windows 10, there is no general compatibility issue and there is no need to use any kind of compatibility mode. Did you install the REW version with JRE or without JRE? If without, which JRE are you running and is it Oracle or OpenJDK?

Yes, one time I tried godmode. And that folder is sat on my desktop until now. I just deleted, and REW work again. How it is possible?? I tought it is just a folder to easy access settings. By the way, thank you very much John!

Re: Win10 Woes

Thank you so much for your help John!
I got the same problem after upgrading. GodMode dragged on for a long time (Windows 7) on the disk without serving. I deleted it and REW works as before.
Does this mean that JohnMode is more benevolent and necessary than GodMode ?
