Soundcard problem

Hi everyone.
I have a Focusrite Saffire and I can not make a sound card calibration.
Line out 1-2 to line in 1-2.
Maybe there's a problem with windows mixer, I open it and only see 3 items for reproduction and none for record, it seems like the signal don't go thru saffire.
Thanks. Sorry for my english.

Re: Soundcard problem

Are you using the WDM or the ASIO drivers?

Re: Soundcard problem

You can certainly choose which driver you want to install, but REW only works with WDM drivers installed.

There's a Playback and a Record Mixer that must be selected independently.

When you select the speaker icon in the system tray you get the following select box.

Pull down Options and select Properties.

Then select Playback and the items you want shown.

Name: Select Playback or Record.jpg

Size: 42.0 KB

Be sure line-in is muted in Playback as shown.

Then select Record and the items you want selected.

Size: 40.2 KB

Be sure line-in is selected

So, does your system look anything like I've shown above?

Re: Soundcard problem

No. I know all that settings but in this case, with saffire, I see only 3 items to choose, master-wave-sw synth and nothing else on playback.
And there's no items on record.
i assume that I need to reinstall something in windows.
Thanks.

Perhaps not. The Saffire card may have taken over those functions and are controllable now through the Saffire application software.

Do you have controls for Recording line-in with the application? If so, you should be able to get control of the line-in levels.

Re: Soundcard problem

Yes, I have control with the saffire mixer and i use everyday without problems. But It seems that REW don't make any sound (I see VU movements on REW but I can't hear anything) Settings shows saffire for output and input.)
Thanks again.

So, REW shows on the Settings page, the saffire in the Output Device and Input Device.

What does it show under that selection other then Default Output and Default Input. Does it show Speaker and Line-in?

Can you show a picture like the one below (as an example).

Another question: Are you able to produce any sound from your speakers with REW?

Re: Soundcard problem

Hi Brucek
I can not find the way to make a config file list for convolver. I have two impulses: 48000 and 44100 for windows media player. I can make a config file for one or another.
Thanks.

Re: Soundcard problem

Sorry, I know very little about convolvers.

In the File menu, REW can Export the Impulse Response in a WAV format, and also the Filters IR as WAV.
