First measurments, with and without eq, Velodyne IC 600

Black = before auto eq
Rd = after auto eq

Sub: Velodyne In Ceiling 12" subwoofer with auto eq.

I was surprised to see a half-way decent before graph...and also suprised to see little change after the 7-band auto eq.

Yeah, a BFD would do better...

And you're doing yourself a disservice by using such an expanded vertical scale.

If you used the more reasonable standard that we use here of 45dB-105dB, you'd be amazed how flat that response actually is. You're using about a 20dB spread rather than the accepted 60dB. You should also take your measurements at 75dBSPL.

HAHA! It does look much smoother with your recommended scale.

I will attempt me next measurement at 75dB.

Thanks for all your help and info Bruce!

BFD in waiting....just need one more cable to complete the connection and it will be next.
I do prefer having the ability to manually adjust the filters rather than letting the amplifier/dsp do it for me. I wish the Velodyne SC-600 gave some indication of what it was doing.
