"Highest level in the measurement is -49 dBFS" need help with REW

So I'm using a SB Live external soundcard and I don't see any "right/left outputs" as John refers to in the Help files and in other threads. These are the jacks it has:

Mic In
Phones
C/Sub
Rear
Front
SPDIF Out
Line In (which I use for the SPL meter)

So not sure which to connect to receiver from. So I tried all of them and I get that prompt (in title of this thread) when I am using Automatic Measurement. I turned my receiver up to -8 (which is crazy) and the prompt came again telling me to turn up my receiver.

I'm doing something wrong in the SB-to-receiver setup and would like advice from anyone here that has been through this.

I posted this on AVS too. Thanks

The "FRONT" will be the stereo left and right mains line-out jack.

To ensure the sound card works, plug it into your receivers AUX plug and see if it passes sound (music mp3's etc) from your computer.

Then test it with REW.

"Front" does not send a signal to receiver. I tested with iTunes (and REW). The only jacks that send a signal to the receiver are optical, SPDIF (which is digital coax), and phones. But phones don't generate enough volume for REW.

This is very frustrating and annoying. I thought Soundblaster Live external was supposed to work with REW.

It really has nothing to do with REW. The soundcard is selecting to output in digital rather than analog.

I'm sure there's a method of forcing the default output to be analog.

Perhaps someone else here uses this soundcard and can comment how to enable analog out?

Ok "front" works via analog but signal is so weak.

With digital, I get 80 db with receiver at -22.

With analog, I get 54 db with receiver at -22.

This is gonna be a problem if I try to do REW, right? Everything in soundcard control is maxed for volume.
