Just getting started

I have not purchased anything yet,but plan to buy a BFD. I have a G3 Mac running X and downloaded REW. I am considering the Behringer ECM800 mic and a UB502 mixer with phantom power for the mic.

How is this used instead of a Shack SPL meter?

Are there any printable instructions for the REW software?

I need help!!!

TIA

Ryan

It's used the same as the RS meter, except the ECM8000 doesn't have a meter on it to indicate the actual SPL level in the room. At one point in the setup for REW, you use a RS meter held near the ECM8000 mic to establish the level in the room. No big deal.

Re: Just getting started

I thought I could get away with not buying the Shack SPL meter, but if I need one with the good mic to set it up, I guess I won't get the good mic.

Thanks,

Ryan

The good mic is quite inexpensive and quite accurate.
