REW is a program that plots your speaker’s response in your room. It does this in a matter of seconds with a sine wave tone that sweeps from the lowest to the highest frequencies. The program is designed with parametric equalizing in mind, and indeed has built-in parameters for a few specific equalizers that are popular with the home theater enthusiasts, as well as a generic option that can be used with any parametric. You can tweak filters in “real time” and the program will show you the effect they will have on response. As to whether or not it will be useful in your room, that depends on you. I noticed that you first posted this in the Pro Audio/Recording section, and I know that many studio people frown on equalizing monitor speakers. Even if you don’t have a use for that feature, the program is still a dandy way to quickly and easily check your response. It also does waterfall readings, which you might find useful. Best of all, the price is right! Regards, Wayne A. Pflughaupt | ||||

| Re: About EQ Wizard??? Indeed, but it can be very useful to help you to design acoustic treatment for the room that will solve problems at source (in the time domain) rather than treating the symptoms (in the frequency domain). | |||

| Re: About EQ Wizard??? Thanks to all of those that replied. I appeciate the time... I will look at the help files given and see what I learn from them. As far as EQ'ing studio monitors, I have also heard that it is not recommended either. Anyway, I was told about the Room EQ Wizard so I thought that I would look into it. Thanks again, Mark | |||
