| I'm trying to calibrate my sub with a BFD and a new RS analogue SPL meter but when I load the correction file it seems to work inverted. Here is what I mean. The first image is without the .cal file, the second image (with the black line being the calibration) is with the .cal file. Shouldn't the lower frequencies be higher dB on the graph when the correction file is applied? Because as you can see, the opposite happens. Also I have the SPL meter set to "FAST" and "C WEIGHTING". Should "Compensate for C Weighting" be turned on or off in REW? Thanks Andrew | ||||

The calibration file isn't that far off the C-weight file, so you might not notice too much difference. You should always have the C-weight box checked though, so it can carry on above the ~100Hz upper limit we have set for the calibration files. The reason we only went to 100Hz is because after that the RS meter is quite close to C-weight standard. Quote:
When you post graphs, set them with a vertical axis of 45dB to 105dB and a horizontal axis from 15Hz to 200Hz. That way everyone is comparing the same axis.. ![]() brucek | ||||||
