Getting Started - Microphone Requirement

I just downloaded REW and have been reading through the help.

First off, to the person who wrote the help, an excellent step by step job. This stuff is confusing enough to a newcomer but its very well done.

I have a RS Digital meter and will be using a Dell D620 laptop. I read I cannot use the internal sound card so I'm going to run out and grab a USB model recommended.

What about a mic? The only mic I have is the one that came with my Yamaha RX-V2600 that is for their YPAO adjustment system.

Is there a reasonable one RS carries that will work if thats not acceptable?

What I plan on doing with REW for the first round anyways is coming up with some room treatments based off of the readings. EQ'ing isn't in the plan as of yet since I don't have my new stuff but I want to get some room treatments in first.

Thanks

You use the RS meter. It has an RCA line output.
