| Sigmatel Audio - Will it work? I am looking at the local stores and cannot find any of the Creative external sound cards available for purchase. I was doing a search and saw someone else was using the built in Sigmatel sound card in their laptop. I have a Dell D620 with selectabe as Line In or Mic In. Will this work for me or should I still hunt down an external unit? | ||||

| Re: Sigmatel Audio - Will it work? I think this is the same thing I have in my laptop and it won't work. This is the standard sound card for laptops if I'm not mistaken. However, you could always try it. It may be different somehow. | ||||

| Re: Sigmatel Audio - Will it work? Worked perfect! I plugged in the meter and it came up and asked me if I wanted to do Line In or Microphone. Set it to line in and did the meter test no problem. I just need to redo it now. Wife was baking and a bunch of other things going on, just confirmed it worked. | ||||

| Re: Sigmatel Audio - Will it work? Hmm, I should have got a D620; Dell's D520 Sigmatel Audio driver also offers an option of Line In, but physically has only Mic In with the same meter-pegging 3+V DC bias as others. A loopback test from the headphone jack with REW shows good response to 20 Hz. | ||||
