| can't set input volume hello, i'm new here, and i was so intrigued by this forum that i bought a rs meter and a fbq2496 to eq my home recording studio. for sound cards i have a digidesign mbox 2 factory and n emu-0404. in past experience, the mbox seems to only work with pro-tools, reason, and ableton live. so i have the 0404 as my standard windows audio card, and the outputs of that card are routed to the inputs of the mbox. that way i can use the controls on the fron of the mbox to control my monitor levels, and headphone levels. anyways, while setting up room eq wizard, i get to the step where you set the input level, and no matter what i do, i can't get the level meter to show any signal from my spl meter. the meter is plugged into the right input of my 0404, and when i tap on the mic, i can see the level rise on my soundcards virtual mixer, and i can hear the tapping coming through the speakers. but no level on the req input meter. i tried switching the channel with the left/right button, i tried toggling the record button on/off, nothing. any ideas? i know the 0404 uses asio drivers, does req support asio? i really want to eq my room with this program, but i am having a hard time. any help would be appreciated. thanks! eric | |||

| Re: can't set input volume Java only supports WDM drivers for audio under Windows, not ASIO. Do you see normal windows record volume controls for the 0404? Would be worth posting how the windows mixers are set for replay and record. Also make sure the mic input is not mixed through to the output (i.e. you do not want to be able to hear it on the speakers) as that feedback loop will give incorrect measurements. | |||

| Re: can't set input volume i figured it out. i had to open the patchmix dsp application, a virtual mixer/control panel for the 0404, and insert a send on the pci input to wave out. and of course mute that input. after that, everything worked fine. now i am just trying to figure out how to set the bfd up. thanks! | |||
