REW Review help needed.

Hi,

Like a lot of us here, it was years into this hobby before I learned of software programs like REW and the others that exist in the category. In fact, countless Google searches turned up little about any of the software, and I first learned about REW, not from the result of a search on acoustics or measuring, but by reading a post on an AV forum.

I'd like to try and change that - to make it easier for people to learn about REW and other programs like it. I'm starting a new website to catalog/review these programs, and I'd like to do a nice review on REW.

I haven't even started using REW myself, (aside from tinkering with it - no actual measurements). If you've used REW and feel like it has some good (or bad) points about it you'd want people to know about, please let me know, so I can get it in the review.

Hopefully a year from now, I'll have had time to review at least 10 of the programs out there (yes there are that many!) and the site can be a valuable resource for people looking to compare the features of one vs another. In the short term, I'd like to get a review of REW, TrueRTA, and ETF(and R+D)

I can use all the help I can get, so if you like to write, and have used REW, please get in touch!

- Jack

You may want to wait a couple of weeks for REW as a new version is coming out. Sound on Sound (a UK pro audio mag, www.soundonsound.com) reviewed a few programs including REW in their Nov 2006 issue but a small payment is required to download a pdf of the review. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/nov06/articles/pcmusician_1106.htm
