| Cable Options for REW Connections The REW documentation shows RCA 75ohm shielded cable for the connections. I will have to run a cable 25' from my RS meter to my computer and then a 50' from my computer to my AV receiver input. Will cheap cables with 3.5 mm jacks (and appropriate end adapters) work? I can get a 25' and 75' length together for less than $10. RCA cables are more expensive. Or does the connection require RCA type shielded audio cables for signal quality? | |||

| Re: Cable Options for REW Connections The term RCA refers to the connector type, not the cable. You would certainly need shielded cable. I would think that the cables with the 3.5mm jacks would use shielded cable. You do have to use a stereo connector at the soundcard though. brucek | |||

| Re: Cable Options for REW Connections Brucek, Thank you for your response. This is the specific cable I was looking at available through Monoprice. I called them about the shielding and they weren't 100% sure, but did think shielding would be minimal. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021802&p_id=652&seq=1&format=2&styl e=[/size] | |||

You will still need an adapter to break out a single channel to the Radio Shack meter (if that's what you're using). The meter uses an RCA connection. You would also need to break out the cable with an adapter to plug it into your receiver which would also be an RCA connection. I upgraded your account so you can post anything now....... brucek | ||||

| Re: Cable Options for REW Connections Thanks. Yes, I can get the adapters or y-cables to split things out for the RS and AVR connections. Just wasn't sure there weren't some other technical factors to consider here. | |||
