| Sound Card Calibration Problems Hi All, I'm having some difficulties calibrating my soundcard(s). I've tried it with my Motu 828, My native instruments Kore, the internal laptop soundcard, and my M-audio transit. No luck. On my Transit: I adjust Sweelp level and te output volume untl the levels are exactly the same. I hit the final Next button to begin calibratioin. thte window gets minimised as per the instructions but nothing happens after that. the transit has 3.5mm line in and out. i've got it connected via teh right rca cable using a y rca adapter to stereo 3.5mm connector. Any ideas what is going on? thanks | ||||

| Re: Sound Card Calibration Problems Please look at the roomeqwizardxx.log.txt log files in your home directory (the location is shown in the About box) and see if any error messages have been logged in them. Also please advise what OS you are running. | ||||

| Re: Sound Card Calibration Problems It looks like one of the sweep parameters has ended up with an out-of-range value. If you are comfortable using regedit to export a registry key it would be helpful in tracking down what might have caused this, the key I'd like to see is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\room eq wizard. If you use File -> Export in regedit while viewing that key you can save the key, change the file extension from .reg to .txt, open it in notepad or another text editor and copy and paste the text into a reply on here. Alternatively email it to me at john_mulcahy@hotmail.com. After doing that, use the "delete saved settings and shut down" option in the REW Settings menu then start REW and try again. | ||||

| Re: Sound Card Calibration Problems Thanks for the registry file. The problem was caused by the code not checking and limiting the sweep end frequency to half the the card sample rate when the sample rate changes. This bug will occur if REW is exited after doing a sweep to 24k, then the next time REW starts up the sample rate is changed to 44.1k before making any measurements. It has been fixed for the next release. | ||||
