first try

sub only 0deg

sub and mains 0deg

sub and mains 180deg

notes: this is in 742 pixel width, everytime I click ok, the REW changes the 800 I wrote back to 742
no smoothing
I used the first 3 channels (do I have to use the one labelled sub?)

questions: (please guide me on this one)
by the looks of it, my sub should be set at 180 right?
do I set the cutoff the same as my crossover setting?

Re: first try

Forget about the mains for now and let's just look at the sub only at 0 degrees and if you want 90 and 180 degrees out of phase.

You need to raise your measurement level up though... it looks like you are measuring at a level of about 60-65db. Bump it on up to 80db.

Try setting the image to 850px wide and then save it.

Set your axis limits as follows:

Re: first try

i did the 45-105 15-200 axis thing but I found out that since my monitor display is set to 1024 x 768 ... max size I can save the graph is 742. if I increase monitor display settings, I am able to save the graph to a wider pixel size.

anyway, here is my 2nd try
first one is: 0deg (sub PEQ deactivated)
second one is: 0deg (sub PEQ activated)

Re: first try

You can certainly filter out the problems between 40Hz and 100Hz with the equalizer...

Re: first try

which one is better?
no smoothing
green is single sub
blue is dual sub colocated

green has a shallower dip

Re: first try

Actually the green gives you somewhat of a natural house curve if you knocked down those areas from 45-100hz and brought up the area at 54hz. The BFD should work well for ya in this case.

Re: first try

You willl probably wanna keep your mains off until after you have entered your filters and after you re-measure the sub only.

Nice pic! You may want to pull those mains out so that the front edge is in front of those subs.

Re: first try

I'm pretty sure we had a CHT-15 here because I ordered and sold two of those to two different customers a couple of years ago. I thought for the money they were awesome subs. I put one in a HT system.

Re: first try

sonnie, that was the previous model CHT (it was called CHT everywhere)
but this new model (with remote) had this distinction where the CHT-R is 220v while the DLS-R is 110v
