A couple of basic questions for the Soundblaster live! 24 bit external

I'm sure these have been asked and answered somewhere, but I have been looking for a while and not sure I have the answer.

How do I turn of the CMSS light (the green one on the front)? I've pressed the button, also powered down and back up, and it stays on. Anyone else have this problem?

Also, can someone confirm that the front speaker out jack is also the line-out jack? (Or is the headphone jack the line-out jack?)

Thanks,

Andy

Fauty unit?

My light switches on and off instantly with the CMSS push button.

Correct. "Front" is line out.

I'm fairly sure this is in the REW help files somewhere.

I've always used the headphone jack as the line out - works great.

Never let it be said that I argued with The Great Master but REW's help files do mention the "Speaker" socket for Line Out.

I expect "Microphone" does weird things to the response curve.

Yeah, the front speaker out is a line-out. I suspect the headphone will work fine also if it enjoys a low output impedance..........
