| Newb set up So I' want to use a Delta 1010 with a dbx callibration mic. However I want to use my Soundblaster card as the ouput for test tones. So I: Plug the mic into a Allen Heath mic pre (mic needs phanto power) Plug the mic pre in to the Delta input 1 Set Delta input 1 as the input Set Soundblaster as output When testing the sound card I'm guessing I loop the Soundblaster as that is what will reproducing the generated tones? Either way I'll have to change one of the input/output settings and then change it back. Is this an issue? My thanks to the creator of the program. Looks very slick so far. | |||

| Re: Newb set up The REW HELP files spell out fairly well how to calibrate the soundcard. You simply loop the right channel line-out to the right channel line-in and do the soundcard calibration routine. This creates a file that you save and point to in REW that applies the inverse of the soundcards response to every measurment. After you've created the file, you remove the loopback and plug in the mic/pre into the right channel line-in and the right channel line-out goes to the receiver.......... brucek | |||

| Re: Newb set up I have two sound cards so to speak, I was just wondering if should do the one producing the test tone or both (loop the out of the SB to the in of the Delta, and out of the Delta back to the SB). I'll try both. | |||

| Re: Newb set up I'm basically using two cards. I input (where I plug my mic in) into the Delta interface, and my output (goes to my audio system) is the Soundblaster. I would guess I want to loop both so REW can get response for both "cards". I can utilize just the Delta, but I have to do some re-routing to my audio system which I was trying to avoid. Either way, I should be able to get it to work. | |||
