| Is there a way to use REW to help to adjust time delay between main and subs? Well... I have been playing around with my distance settings on my processor and what it does is help to time align the speakers..... I have been doing it by ear (and tape measure.) Would any of the graphing that REW offers be of good use for this? I want to get the absolute best integration between my mains and IB... Thanks guys! | ||||

| Re: Is there a way to use REW to help to adjust time delay between main and subs? REW can show you any changes delay settings may have to your sub’s response. Regards, Wayne | ||||

| Re: Is there a way to use REW to help to adjust time delay between main and subs? After you take your measurements, take a look at the "All Energy Time Curves" tab. You'll need to zoom in because what you're seeing is the time arrival of the speakers and the reflections in your room. Sound travels at about 1 ft per 1 ms, so you'll only need to look at the first 10ms or so. As you change the distance of the sub, you should see the peak associated with the sub moving back and forth. Ideally, you'll want the sub peak lined up with the peak from your mains. (btw, since REW works on relative time, you're gonna need to have your mains and subs on at the same time when measuring. If it did absolute time, then you could measure one at a time which makes it easier to see). -Mike Bentz ~It's all about compromise~ "It's territorial with the soundboard. So you're mixing and some dude comes by spewing opinions and trying to turn knobs. It's akin to going up to an artist and painting over his unfinished masterpiece. You just want to shove your paint brush up his nose and throw the soundboard out the window!" | ||||
