Might Be In Over My Head

I recently purchased a pair of subs for 2 sealed enclosures. I have my amp picked out. Now my next step is purchasing and setting up a BFD. To tell ya'll the truth, I've been reading through as many posts on the topic as I can, and honestly, I'm pretty nervous. I was hoping to get so tips and maybe some direction, not to mention a whole bunch of people telling me I's stressing over nothing.

Thanks everyone

It's easy, don't worry about it. You get the subs working first and then add the BFD as a special project. Lots of people to help you here. You already passed stage one - you know how to post at this forum.

Since you live in Houston, yours truly can make a house call, if it comes to that.

As far as “some direction,” that dual-sub thing can bite you if you don’t do it right. Especially if you don’t co-locate them.

Wayne

Actually my setup proves co-location is no biggie. I've stuck them all over the place and the overall response still reacts as if it's one sub when eq'ing...

Re: Might Be In Over My Head

I was in the same boat when I first started reading the information about the BFD (and REW). I still am no where near where I can make suggestions about settings but once I had it in my hands things started to work out. Also, everytime I had a question and posted here, someone always offered there time and help.

Once upon a time there was a mosquito in a room that everyone was trying to hit with slingshots.

Enter Sonnie with three field cannons and has no problem with the task.

"No biggie", he says............

Let’s not forget the first rule of subwoofer set-up: There’s no guarantee that what works in one room will work another one – unless the two are identical!

Wayne
