SPL Meter panel clarification setting

OK, I've got REW, RS meter, soundcard and a new DSP1124P V1.4 all hooked up an going, picking up a usb to midi cable today.

I am using the RS meter with the downloaded .cal file. When using the SPL Meter panel do I set the adjustable value to my RS meter reading or the reading from the SPL Meter panel displayed?

Value of the actual RS meter is set into the SPL meter panel in REW. The RS meter reads the actual level in the room, so we match the meter in REW to that, so the levels are approximately the same...

OK, that's how I interpreted the help file. But, isn't the RS meter reading inaccurate because it is uncompensated? Wouldn't the RS meter mic and cal file display a more accurate reading of the SPL in the room?

You're only setting a rough 75dB with pink noise to get the REW SPL meter somewhere in the ball park. Its not that important.

Once you start measuring with a sweep while using a calibration file, the response will be quite accurate. If the entire wholesale level across the range is 0.5dB low, it doesn't really matter.
