| I am visit ing my parents and brought my laptop with my soundcard to help place my fathers sub. I hooked everything up like I did with my system, but when I try to use the "check levels with sub" the pink noise comes out of the center so I cannot set the volume high enough to get a proper reading via the sub. Currently the surround setting is on without surround on the pink noise is sent out the front left and right channels. Currently the crossovers are set at 100 but even changing them to 200 don't help this problem. I didn't have any of these problems with my system and at a lose here. Can anyone help? | ||||

| Re: Check levels with Sub Problem It sounds like the front channels may be set as full range or "large" rather than small so they are not redirecting low frequencies to the sub. | ||||

| Re: Check levels with Sub Problem That was my first thought but all the speakers are set to small so that can't be it :-/. | ||||

| Re: Check levels with Sub Problem Are you certain the sub is actually hooked up correctly and playing? Has the sub level been calibrated using the processor's test signals to get that correct? | ||||

| Re: Check levels with Sub Problem Yeah, what brucek said. Also, turn off the mains (and center) while doing your sub cals. Good luck! -- Otto | ||||
