REW using Mic input

Good Day everybody,

I am a lucky guy with a company brand new HP V7430EE Laptop. Of course as you know that work is much more important than HT stuff....I decided to try REW first

I got the soundcrad calibrated as well as the RS cal file loaded an took a sweep.
Pls note that the only input that worked is the mic but not the wave mix out.

I then did the same with my Desktop (through line in) and I was quite surprized when I compared the results....the very deep stuff is different in SPL.

Have a look and suggest pls....but I hope Brucek won't tell me that mic input do not work well with REW

To do a proper comparison, you should test with a loopback cable. If the two machines measure identical, then you will have two straight lines as the response.

Connect a cable from output to input of the soundcard, remove the meter cal file, but use the soundcard cal file and do a measurement............

OOPS! I had assigned the RS cal file to the soundcard.... That's it...Everything should be OK now.
