| REW Recording From External Sources? I've just come across the MATT test available from ASC and am wondering if REW can be used to record the sound output during the test? Rather than using a stopwatch to monitor what split seconds my system's articulation is at its worst (and the corresponding frequency), it would make things much simpler and effective if REW could graph the output on an SPL vs time chart. I'm aware that REW has a record function that provides a numerical dB reading on a real time basis. Can this function be extended to record the SPL readings over a period of time regardless of whether REW is generating a signal? If not, is anyone aware of a program that does (preferably free )?Rob | |||

| Re: REW Recording From External Sources? Just record the signal using Audacity. If you want to do any kind of post-processing, then just export a wave file from Audacity and open it in the free version of Praxis. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ http://www.libinst.com/praxis_downloads.htm -Mike Bentz ~It's all about compromise~ "It's territorial with the soundboard. So you're mixing and some dude comes by spewing opinions and trying to turn knobs. It's akin to going up to an artist and painting over his unfinished masterpiece. You just want to shove your paint brush up his nose and throw the soundboard out the window!" | |||

| Re: REW Recording From External Sources? Thanks for the tip, DrWho. I played around with Audacity a bit the other night and am close to the measurement results I'm looking for, but not quite there yet. As the test frequency gets higher, the plot gets very dense and difficult to read due to Audacity displaying the actual waveform. I'll have to try playing with it to plot the SPL in a uniform density plot regardless of the frequency. The guys at the Audacity forum suggested using the Tremolo effect... | |||
