Program keeps hanging

When I go to calibrate the external sound card (a no-name brand), I click "measure" then go thru the steps. When I get to the step where I try to set the output level equal to the input volume, I can play with it for a minute, but then the program just hangs there.

Now, I tried this on two separate machines, so I'm inclined to think it has something to do with the external card or the drivers. Is there anyone else who has run into this?

There have been a couple of reports of similar problems. Did you try leaving the REW input and output selections as Default and using the soundcard's own mixer or the Windows mixer to control the levels? Are you running XP or Vista? It may also help to run the Generate Debug File option in the REW soundcard settings and post the result here.

Yes, tried every combination I could think of there.

Now there's an idea, I completely overlooked the debug mode. I'll give that a try.

Well, I figured out my problem. The soundcard I was using was a P.O.S. I replaced it with a SB Live and voila, no more problems.
