How to connect my computer to my processor and rs meter?

Hi,
I have read the setup for REW and I want to check out my freuency in my room. My question is my computer has a mic connection and a headphone(miniplugs) and the rest are USB ports. I am thinking of connecting the rs meter to the mic but what about my internal soundcard to my processor?

You need a line input to connect to the meter, the mic input is not suitable - too much gain, too much noise, poor frequency response. Best get a basic USB soundcard.

Creative's MP3+ works well and was recently available from the "Refurbished" section of their website for $10.

Good news. I just order one since I do have a problem with the on-board sound card on my laptop.
