Ragged sweeps?

Are these reasonable? The mains sweep seems really ragged. Do I need to smooth it? Is this because I measured all speakers? Any suggestions?

Re: Ragged sweeps?

Yes, they’re very reasonable.

Next time, you might want to set your graph for our standard 45-105 range. Helps us compare apples to apples.

Wayne

Sorry, I'm new at this. I think this is what you mean. Also, I had turned on 1/3 octave smoothing. Here it is without the smoothing. It seems really ragged (spikes up and down). Is that normal? I am used to seeing published graphs and they are always much smoother. Is something wrong or do they just smooth their graphs?

Yep. When you measure the mains you need the smoothing............

So does everyone get those same kind of wild oscillations? What level of smoothing is realistic?

Re: Ragged sweeps?

The crazy response you're seeing is normal for an in-room measurement. It's phase cancellation caused by all the reflections of sound in the room. Most of the measurements you see that are really smooth are probably taken inside an anechoic chamber.
